The Resurrection Is About God’s Love
Hi All,
The scripture of the day is found in John 3:16 (AMP) – “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
As we approach Easter or what we Christians call “Resurrection Sunday”, thank God for the gift of love, that He gave us in His son, Jesus. Resurrection Sunday is about celebrating how much God loved us. We are all born with a sinful nature (this was due to Adam and Eve’s disobedience back in the Garden of Eden, Genesis 3) which basically is a life disconnected from God or death. But God loved us so much that He decided to sacrifice His only son, Jesus (which is God in an earthly body) so that you and I (if we choose to) can come back to Him and live with Him forever (this is what John 3:16, listed above is all about).
So, this is how God carried out His plan of love. God allowed for His son, Jesus, to be born on the earth in a normal body so that we would be able to relate to Him. As Jesus grew He showed supernatural power through signs and miracles when He was on the earth, just to remind us that He is also God. Then when it came time for Jesus to be crucified (Matthew 26) He willingly gave up His life (John 10:18), even though He knew it was going to be a horrible, painful death. But this was why God sent Jesus because He loved all of us so much that He was willing to put His only son, through this horrible, painful death on the cross, so that you and I (if we choose to) can live with Him again (basically erasing the Adam & Eve disconnection). This is why, Christian’s call the crucifixion day “Good Friday” because Jesus death meant life (or connection back to God) for all of us.
How you ask? Well, three days after Jesus laid His life down to be crucified the scriptures say in Matthew 28:5-6 (AMP) – But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said [He would]. Come! See the place where He was lying. Good News! Jesus rose just like He told His disciples He would! That is great news but God is so awesome that there is more to this. The scriptures say in Matthew 28:17-18 (AMP) – And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted [that it was really He]. Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority (all power of absolute rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. So not only did Jesus die on the cross, but He rose with all power, which was all part of God’s love plan to receive us back into His holy presence.
Who wouldn’t want to serve and awesome, powerful and all loving God, like that? I do, and if you don’t currently I hope you will after hearing how much He loves you. The scriptures encourage those of us that believe and receive, Gods love through Jesus, to tell as many people as possible the good news. The scripture finishes like this, Matthew 28:19-20 – Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”
God Bless!
My goal is to help you to live healthy mind, body and spirit so you can live, your best life!
