THE PROCESS OF THINKING
Hello All,
The scripture of the day is found in Isaiah 26:3-4 (KJV) – Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength..
Today I am talking about The Process of Thinking (using the mind).
Long ago there used to be a very popular saying “A mind is a terrible thing to waste.” This is still true today, because thinking things through or using your mind can be the difference between success and failure, sickness and health and happiness and disappointment in life. Most people always have the basic thinking of who, what, when and where concerning things like family, friends, health, finances, protection and job/school. These are all the things that we should be sitting down in a quiet place and thinking about and making decisions on for our future.
It could be very stressful to keep thinking about all the things we have to do in life because we don’t know the future. But if you make thinking part of a process and you add other components to that process like, prayer before and after making all decisions in life, then add trust in God and be thankful unto Him. This allows us to wait on the Lord and His answer, which makes life so much more peaceful. I call the 4 components I listed above the PTTW:
- P – praying is simply you having a discussion with God about whatever concerns you. Talk to God about everything, ask Him about the who, what, when and where.
- T – trust is vital in this process because it shows that you believe God is who He said He is and you believe God will do what He said He will do.
- T – being thankful, since you trust that God is going to give you the answer, start being thankful for the answer even before you get it. God is not in the business of failing so whether the answer is something you wanted to hear or something you didn’t want to hear. God knows the future and He has your best interest at heart. So, you can thank God right now that the answer He has is all good.
- W- waiting on God to give you an answer (you don’t have to keep praying about it), becomes less difficult when you do the first three things listed above. Listening for an answer from God can come in many different forms:
-The answer could come through while you’re praying as the Lord may leave an impression on your heart and mind.
-It could come through a person that might confirm what you were praying about.
-It could come through a bible scripture you read that deals with what you were praying about.
I was born into this world as a thinker, someone who analysis things (sometimes to a fault). I got saved (received Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior) at 15 years old and I learned about praying, trusting being thankful and waiting on God. But it was hard for me at first because I always wanted to get all the answers myself and work out every issue myself. I didn’t learn to put the PTTW process into my life until I got into my thirty’s and it’s still something I have to intentionally do.
I remember when I was having second thoughts about starting this blog because the setup process was getting so confusing. I just took a step back from the setup and started praying and trusting God to show me how this process worked. I started thanking God for helping me to create a successful blog and then I waited for God to impress new ideas and helpful thoughts upon my heart and mind and here we are with The Rite Living blog.
Life is so much better (stress and worry free) for me now that I’ve been using the PTTW for every situation and circumstance that concerns my life. We all want to have peace about the decisions we make in life and the PTTW process is a sure-fire way to do it.
Like I said in the beginning, since a mind is a terrible thing to waste, Don’t! Take some quiet time to pray, trust, be thankful and wait on the Lord to help you use your mind to steer you towards a successful future!
My goal is to help you to live healthy and to do this you will need to change your mind (thinking), body and spirit so you can live, your best life!
